Remember when your
birthday was magical?

Earning trust is the goal with this little-known local New England non-profit. Working closely with a team of two copywriters we dug in with the creative brief and established clear objectives. Our challenge was to grab the potential supporter's attention and quickly relay the organization's story. For children, their birthday is a truly special magical time of wonder and hope. They often look forward to and count down to their special day. A child faced with homelessness often misses out on this childhood experience. Through storytelling, we set out to instill empathy and trust with potential supporters.

Working with the organization's established brand, we developed two video spots, print ads, out of home ads, and a social media campaign to accomplish the project goals. Feeling special and important can make a difference in a child’s life. Our objective of this campaign was to spark new donations, support, and awareness of this important organization making a difference in children's lives.

Birthday Wishes® is a non-profit organization which has a simple mission: "to provide birthday parties for children affected by homelessness throughout New England." The program gives a sense of normalcy to kids faced with unusual situations.

Taking potential donors back to their childhood, was a creative approach to tell the story in a positive way.

Our primary goal, outlined in the creative brief, was to create awareness of the organization and to drive donations. We achieved this objective by conveying the authenticity of the program. I created personal “Thank You” notes from kids who received a party from the program.
